A lightly edited partial transcription of the Items of Local Interest column on page 8 of the 27 Feb 1919 issue of the Simcoe Reformer newspaper.

Dan. Dwyer, a Woodhouse farmer, died on Monday,
a victim of influenza. His funeral took place yesterday morning, Rev. Father Nagle officiating.

Of his seven children, six of them have the disease,
one or two being in extremely serious condition.

Mrs. Dwyer, who was formerly Miss Lizzie O'Mahoney,
a sister of Mrs. W. E. Kelly of Simcoe, has so far escaped, but is quite worn out with her efforts in her husband's behalf.
