A lightly edited partial transcription of the Items of Local Interest column on  page 4 of the 26 Dec 1918 Simcoe Reformer newspaper.

The little daughter of Mrs. Malcolm Diggins was on Sunday taken to Brantford for treatment for paralysis, following diphtheria, which the little one had a few weeks ago.

On Monday she died.

The little girl Edith [sic], was buried Thursday morning at 11 o'clock in Oakwood Cemetery, Rev. Mr. Farney officiating.

Besides her mother, and father, who is on duty in England, an elder brother is left.
