A lightly edited partial transcript of the Local Interest column on page 12 of 23 May 1918 issue of the Simcoe Reformer newspaper

The death of Mrs. Jane Elizabeth Caswell took place at Lynn Valley on Monday, the 21st inst., at the home of 
her son, R. W. Caswell.

Deceased, who was in her 83rd year, died from the effects of a stroke. She was born in the Niagara District but had lived in this county for the past 60 years.

Until the death of her husband a few years ago her home was in Middleton. Since then she lived with her daughter, Mrs. Jesse Stround of Simcoe.

The funeral took place yesterday from Lynn Valley to the North Middleton Baptist Church, where the service was conducted by Rev. Mr. Moore of Eden.

Three children, Mrs. Stroud, Mr. R. W. Caswell of Lynn Valley and Mr. John Caswell of Toronto survive, as well as a number of grandchildren.
