the late mrs. burgess

There passed away on Friday last at the home of her son, Mr. F. W. Burgess in Simcoe, an aged lady, long a resident of this community, in the person of Mrs. Burgess.

Deceased, who was born Jean Wilson, was the widow of Mr. James Burgess, who died about six years ago. She was a native of Banffshire, Scotland, and had almost completed her 86th year. Mr. and Mrs. Burgess were married in Hamilton in 1854.

Four daughters and two sons survive. The daughters are: Mr. Cook of Vittoria, Mrs. Lawson of Simcoe, 
Mrs. Finlayson and Mrs. Finlay of Cleveland, Ohio. 
The sons are James, whose present address is unknown, and William of Simcoe.

The members of the family attending the funeral were Mrs. Cook, Mrs. Finlayson, Mrs. Finlay and 
Mr. F. W. Burgess.

The funeral took place on Sunday afternoon to the Baptist Cemetery at Vittoria.
