A lightly edited partial transcription of the Cultus column on page 10 of the 7 Nov 1918 issue of the Simcoe Reformer newspaper.

A sad death occurred in our village in the person of Mrs. Charles Burger.

Deceased has been ill for some months with ulcers of the stomach, but bore it all with wonderful patience.

She passed peacefully away on Thursday morning, leaving behind a loving husband and three sisters:
Mrs. D. Wardell of Port Rowan, and
Misses Dora and Florence of Brantford;
and two brothers, Fred and Ted, in France.

Deceased was [26] years of age.

The funeral service took place at the Methodist Church, of which she was a member.

The bereaved relatives have the heartfelt sympathy of the entire community.
