A lightly edited transcript of a page 1 article in the 31 Mar 1932 Waterford Star:

golden wedding

A very happy event took place 22 Mar 1932 when 
Mr. and Mrs. Joseph W. Buck entertained in honor of the 50th anniversary of their marriage, at their home near Rockford (without presents.)

The respected couple were married in Waterford on 
22 Mar 1882 by the late Rev. Elder Slaght, pastor of Waterford Baptist Church. They have two sons and 
two daughters, seven grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Those attending the wedding 50 years ago were 
Mr. and Mrs. William Gould of Renton, 
Mrs. E. Ingalls (deceased), and Mr. John Honey 
of Rockford. Owning to illness Mr. and Mrs. Gould 
were unable to be present.

The afternoon was spent in games and music. 
Numerous telephone call of congratulations 
were received during the day..

Due to ill health only the immediate family was present. Those attending were: 
Mr. and Mrs. T. S. Brigham of Glanford, 
Mr. and Mrs. James Buck and family of Townsend, 
Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Buack and family of Townsend, 
Mr. and Mrs. Oscar S. French of Glanford, 
Mr. and Mrs. George Cole of Windham Centre, 
Mr. and Mrs. Harry Rock of Wilsonville, and 
Mr. John Honey of Rockford.
