Brownlee Appeals to Privy Council

J. E. Brownlee, former Premier of Alberta and native of Norfolk County, was granted special leave to appeal
to the Judicial Committee of the Privy Council from a judgment of the Supreme Court of Canada of March 1, which awarded $10,000 damages to Vivian McMillan, formerly his secretary, for alleged seduction.

Damages were awarded by the jury in the original trial, but the trial judge refused to enter judgment.
The jury's award was upheld on appeal.
