Mrs. Rose Beckett

Delhi: Death has claimed one of the oldest and best-known citizens of Delhi in the person of Mrs. Rose Beckett, who after about three weeks illness passed peacefully away at the home of her daughter, 
Mrs. Nathan Pettit, King Street, on Sunday,
9 Sep 1934, in her 81st year.

Born in Marlette, Mich., 23 Aug 1854, of U.E.L. parentage, she was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Messecar. At the age of seven years she and the family came to Fredericksburg, now Delhi.

Her husband, the late Jos. Beckett predeceased her in 1920.

She is survived by two daughters: 
Mrs. Nathan Pettit of Delhi, and 
Mrs. Albert Schott of Ridgetown; 
three sons: Stanley of Simcoe, 
William of Kingsville, and John of Wallaceburg; and two brothers: 
Jim Messecar of Marlette, Mich., 
and Bert Messecar of Kingsville.

Funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 2.30 o'clock from her daughter's residence on King Street.
