Death of Jas. B. Austin

An old Simconian, at one time known to everybody here, passed away Tuesday at 
St. Thomas, in the person of Mr. James Beemer Austin.

Mr. Austin died at the home of his sister, Mrs. W. O. Foster, where he went a few weeks ago to visit. He was in his 71st year.

Deceased was the elder son of the late Jonathan Austin of Simcoe, and had lived for many years in Washington, D.C., where he held a very prominent position in the Associated Press.

He leaves one daughter, Mrs. Fred Hager of South Bend, Ind., who with her husband, left with the remains for Washington yesterday afternoon.

Ex-Mayor C. A. Austin is a brother.
