We are sorry to have to report the demise of another of our citizens in the person of Willis Walker, aged 51 years. About three weeks ago, Mr. Walker was taken ill with influenza, from which he seemed to have recovered, when he was smitten with what appeared to be appendicitis.
On Friday last, an operation was performed removing not only a badly diseased appendix, but a great number of gall stones and an abscess. Despite all that loving hands could do he passed away Monday morning.
The deceased leaves a sorrowing widow and two children, Percy Walker near Mount Pleasant and Mrs. Simington of Hartford, to whom the sincere sympathy of a wide circle of friends is extended. The late Mr. Walker was a member of the I.O.O.F., which conducted the funeral services, assisted by the Rev. H. Caldwell, on Wednesday at 1.30 p.m. Interment took place in the Culver Cemetery, near Bloomsburg.
