Garfield Murtland passed away at the Weston Sanitarium Friday, [28] Apr 1918. Some two years ago deceased went to Muskoka Sanitarium in the hope that his affliction might be cured, but tuberculosis had obtained too firm a hold and he was removed to Weston, where he passed away, having borne up bravely till the last summons came.

The funeral services took place at the residence of his sister, Mrs. Edward Forrest, Main Street, Tuesday of this week. Interment was made in Port Dover Cemetery.
