The following is a partial transcription of the Items of Local Interest column on page 1 of the 
28 Mar 1918 Simcoe Reformer. 

Mr. S. N. Culver returned last week from a trip to the Pacific Coast. He is the first home of a party of four from this vicinity who went at the beginning of the year, the others being Messrs. W. C. Evertt, John McInally and 
Fred Doan.

Mr. Culver and Mr. McInally visited 
Mr. Jack Nickerson at Lafayette, La., 
Mr. and Mrs. C. K. Darling at Houston, Tx., and were hospitably entertained  by 
Paul Angle in California.
