OBITUARY

Died on the evening of the 28th ult., after an illness of about three months, Eliza McBride, relict of the late John A. McBride, aged 64 years.

The deceased was born in Belfast, Ireland, in the year 1823. There were nine members of the family, seven sons and two daughters; she was the eighth member of the family, being the elder of the two daughters.

Some of the family emigrated to Canada when she was 17 years old and settled in Hamilton. Two years later she was married from her brother's residence in Hamilton, to the late John A. McBride, and came to Simcoe.

19 years ago her husband died, leaving her with the care of nine children, five sons and four daughters. By steady perseverance, courage and carefulness she has discharged the great trust committed to her, and her children are now occupying honorable positions among us.
