Tyrus Mabee Passes

Mr. Tyrus Mabee, a resident of Simcoe for the last few years, died on Friday in his 72nd year. Some months ago he suffered a stroke, and although he partially recovered from this, never really regained his health.

A few days before Christmas however, he was able to go to meet his son who was coming home for the holiday.

He was a native of Charlotteville township, living there until he came to Simcoe. In politics he was a Conservative, and was an Anglican.

His wife was Miss Hannah Belle McCall, a sister of Senator McCall and Mr. Walter McCall, both of Simcoe. She survives, together with one son Keith of Smith's Falls, and four daughters:
Miss Harrie, until recently of the Boston General Hospital Staff,
Maud, Mrs. W. Howes, of Townsend,
Carrie, Mrs. Sidney Hancock, of Woodhouse,
Norma, Mrs. Andrews of Townsend.
Mrs. Weeks, another daughter, died several years ago.

The funeral was held on Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock, at Mr. Mabee's late residence, Dean Street, Rev. A. B. Farney, rector of Trinity, reading the service. The bearers were Keith Mabee of Smith's Falls, Delbert T. McCall of Simcoe, W. Howes and H. Andrews of Townsend, Oliver Walsh of Vittoria, and Wallace Walsh of Simcoe.

Mr. Mabee was a member of an old Norfolk family, his father being Gabriel Mabee of Charlotteville.
