Young Woman Passed Away

Mrs. Geo. T. Lequyer Succumbs to
Lingering Illness

There passed away at 11 o'clock last Thursday evening at the home of her father, corner of Head and Market streets, where she has been for some months, a bright and popular young woman in the person of Alma Gertrude McIntosh, wife of Geo. T. Lequyer.

The late Mrs. Lequyer was twenty-three years old last December, and had many friends in Simcoe. Although for some months her life has been despaired of, few were prepared for her sudden taking away.

Her illness dates back for about fifteen months, during which long period she has borne her sufferings with the greatest fortitude and cheerfulness.

About the first of last October, when her husband gave up business here, they moved to the Muskoka district, where it was hoped the climate would be more congenial.

The improvement not being satisfactory, Mrs. Lequyer returned to Simcoe early in February, where she has remained with her father, a younger sister, Leona, devoting her entire time to her care since her graduation from the Buffalo General Hospital in March.

All that loving care and devotion could do could not stay the progress of her malady, and she passed peacefully away, reconciled to her fate.

Mrs. Lequyer leaves besides her husband, one child, Mary Gertrude, an engaging little girl of three years; her father, John McIntosh; her brother, Russell J. McIntosh; and two sisters, Mary Leona, and Mrs. Peter Lawson of Simcoe.

The funeral took place on Saturday morning at 9 o'clock to Oakwood cemetery, services being held at St. Mary's church by Rev. Fr. Nagle.
