Died on Friday last

-- Mr. Joel Lefler died at his residence, Waterford on Friday last at the age of 67 years, two months and ten days.

He had been sick for several months with cancer of the liver and suffered considerable during the last few weeks of his illness. 

Mr. Lefler was born at Chippewa, Ont., and when about five years of age came to this place to live with his father. He has lived in this place and vicinity for over sixty years.

He was next oldest of a family of twelve, five of whom have preceded him. The remaining brothers are: Isaac B., Alfred and Eliakim.

The sisters are: Mrs. James Anderson, Bunda, Mich., Mrs. Chas. Pearsall, Elk, Mich., Mrs. John Kitchen, Boston, and Miss Margaret Lefler. 

Mr. Lefler's father, Peter Lefler, was born in New Jersey and moved to Chippeaw 95 years ago. He has been dead 26 years.

A widow and seven children survive him. The members of the family are: Arthur, Mrs. Albert Robins, Charles, Peter, Mrs. Isaac Dusling, Willard and Augustus.

The funeral took place on Sunday last 10 o'clock a.m. to the Round Plains Cemetery. The services were conducted by Rev. A. Slaght.
