The
late Eliza Kniffen was born in the State of Ohio in 1842, removing
with her parents to Michigan at the age of 12 years.
She
was married when she was 18 years of age to L. R. Brown, removing to
Canada in 1865.
Five
years later she was left a widow with three children, all of whom are
still living. They are Carrie A. Adams of Ionia, Mich., Mrs. C. M.
Dennison of London, and W. H. Brown of Toronto.
In
1874 Mrs. Kniffen was married to Thomas L. Kniffen who predeceased her
18 years.
From
the last marriage there were four children born, two of them still
surviving: Mrs. John Miller of Pittsburg, Pa., and Ethel of Crescent,
Oklahoma.
