Observe 51st Anniversary

Well-known residents of Simcoe for many years, Mr. and Mrs. 
J. W. Kitchen on Sunday observed the 51st anniversary of their marriage.

Mr. and Mrs. Kitchen came to Simcoe from Stratford-on-Avon, England, about 40 years ago, Mrs. S. A. Beaumont of Simcoe, a sister of Mr. Kitchen, accompanying them.

For many years Mr. Kitchen was an employee of Canadian Canners Ltd.

Keenly interested in community affairs, he served several terms as a member of the Simcoe Town Council.

He is a veteran of the First Great War and served with the 133rd (Norfolk's Own) Battalion as a member of the band.

The esteemed couple are the parents of six children: 
Mrs. M. C. Beecraft of Delhi, 
Mrs. E. Willerton of Twin Falls, 
Mrs. J. N. Schram and Jack Kitchen of Simcoe,
Mrs. J. Harnick of Sarnia and 
Joseph Kitchen of Dundas.

There also are 15 grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
