Store Burns At Hartford

Mr. and Mrs. R. J. Thomas of Hartford, who were attending the S.S. convention on Tuesday, were called away from the afternoon session by a 'phone message notifying them that their store was burning. Rev. Mr. Hazen and wife left with them in an automobile immediately. The building was completely destroyed, together with contents.

The Thomas store was one of the old landmarks of Townsend and in years gone by an extensive business was done in trading with the Indians. Mr. Frank Wilcox, used to live at Hartford, and we asked him how long the store had been there, and he said we would have to ask some person older than he was, so the building must be pretty old.-- Waterford Star.
