Wm. Guiler Passes

Well known Resident of Charlotteville Had
Almost Attainted Age of 88 Years

Mr. Wm. Guiler, a prominent figure in Charlotteville affairs for over half a century, passed away at his home in that township, a short distance south and west of Vittoria on Monday.

Had he survived until the 25th of this month, he would have celebrated his eighty-eighth birthday.

Mr. Guiler was born in Ireland and came to Charlotteville when ten years of age, and he has always resided in the township. He was a staunch Presbyterian and in politics held strenuous Liberal views. Until old age and failing sight incapitated him, his burly figure was a familiar one at all Liberal gatherings.

He is survived by his widow, who was a Miss Janet Hunter before her marriage 58 years ago, and four sons and one daughter. The latter, Miss Maggie, lived at home with her parents. The sons are John, William H., and Charles of Charlotteville and Thomas of Jarvis.

The funeral too place yesterday afternoon, interment being in the Presbyterian cemetery at Vittoria.
