The Late Mrs. Franklin

Mrs. Almira Franklin died at the home of her daughter Mrs. F. R. Foster of Port Rowan, on Friday morning after a long and trying illness.

She had passed the three score and ten mark, but was so bright and active before her illness that her friends hoped for many years of life.

She was an exceptionally fine woman, and wielded a large influence in the community in which she lived. She was the widow of the late Mr. Benjamin Franklin. Two daughters, Mrs. Annie Woodward of N.Y., and Mrs. F. R. Foster, and one son Mr. E. E. Franklin survive. Mrs. Jennie Skelton of Seattle, Washington, died a few weeks ago. Mr. Clinton Franklin is a stepson.  

She was a daughter of the late Mr. Timotey [sic] Abbott. and was born on the old homestead near Port Royal. She was a member of the Badtist [sic] church, and the funeral was conducted by the Rev. J. B. Brown, pastor of the Port Rowan Baptist church. A large number of old friends from town and country attended, and followed the remains from their little house in the cemetery.

Mrs. Franklin was a daughter of a prosperous influential family and married into another fine family. All her life as passed in pleasant surroundings.
