Following is a transcription of an page 1 obituary from the 1 Oct 1914 Simcoe Reformer. [Paragraph breaks added by the transcriber, the original being two paragraphs.]

An Old Langton Resident

The late Peter Abner Fick died September 18th, at the ripe old age of 81 years. He was born in the year 1833 at Port Royal, Ont., and was a pioneer of Walsingham. He spent his boyhood days with his father on the farm.

At the age of 28 years he came to Langton neighborhood and worked at lumbering. Subsequently he purchased a farm which he cleared and lived upon it till his death.

In the year 1868 he married Nelissa [sic] Mansfield, who still survives him.

In 1878 he engaged in the egg business which he continued up to about four years ago, when his health failed.

He leaves to mourn his demise, besides a widow, a son, Archie, on the homestead; one daughter, Mary Bell, wife of Fred W. Hicks, Clear Creek, Ont. 

A brother Israel Fick of Port Royal, and a sister, Mrs. G. W. Anderson, of Seattle, Wash., also survive.
