Joseph Elvidge

A former resident of Delhi, Joseph Elvidge passed away in hospital at Hamilton on Sunday, April 7, in his 79th year. He had been ill for about six months.

Born in the Province of Quebec, deceased came to Norfolk County with his parents while still a young lad. They settled in the Walsingham district, where Mr. Elvidge continued to reside and farmed for a number of years before removing to Delhi. His wife, formerly Arletta Rean, predeceased him in 1938.

Mr. Elvidge is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Roy Shelley, near Langton, and Mrs. Frank Ketchavaw, Galt; as well as one brother, James of Tillsonburg.

The funeral was held from Gray's Funeral Home, Delhi, at 2.30 o'clock on Tuesday afternoon. Rev. P. H. Lawson of Delhi United Church, officiated and interment was in Delhi Cemetery.
