Death of Miss Caroline Ellis

Miss Caroline Ellis died at about 5:30 o'clock on Monday afternoon, after lying in bed for eight days from injuries sustained from a fall from a hay mow. Her death was quite unexpected, as her friends thought she was recovering nicely. She was seventy-four years of age, was born in Port Rowan, and lived here all her life with her mother who still survives. It does not fall to the last of many to live with a parent for more than three score years and ten as Miss Ellis has done. In this respect as well as in her faithful administration to her aged mother, she was one among many. She led a simple, homely life concerning which there is little to tell, save that she sincerely strove to do her duty. She was a member of the Baptist Church and a faithful christian. -- Port Rowan News.
