The Late John Edgeworth
Former Well Known Windham Man 
Dies in Toronto, Aged 59 Years

John Edgeworth, chief inspector of the Canada Permanent Mortgage Corporation for Ontario, died Tuesday morning, 17th October, inst., at his home, 84 Maitland Street, Toronto, after a very short illness.

He was born 59 years ago in Windham Township, County of Norfolk.

For some years he was engaged in mercantile business at Stevenville, Ontario, and entered the service of the Canada Permanent Mortgage Corporation in April 1896.

He gradually rose until he reached the highly responsible position which he held at the time of his death, and which he had filled for the past ten years.

Mr. Edgeworth married 37 years ago Terese Forse, also of Windham Township, who survives him.

In religion he was a Methodist, a member of Sherbourne Street Church, and in politics a Conservative. He was a member of Zetland Masonic Lodge, and also of the A.O.U.W.

Four brothers, of whom James Edgeworth, of 240 High Park Avenue, Toronto, is one, and three sisters survive him.

A private service was held at the home of the decease in Toronto. The body was brought to Simcoe on Wednesday of last week and interment was made in Oakwood Cemetery, Rev. Mr. Nicol conducting the service.
