Port Rowan

William Dunford of this village died last Sunday from the effects of a paralytic stroke, with which he was overtaken a few weeks ago.

Mr. Dunford was 61 years old at the time of his death. He came to Canada from London, England, at the age of 26 years and had always lived in this vicinity. He married Miss Alice Newton, also of London, Eng., in this village.

Soon after arriving in Canada he was joined by his parents and three sisters, of whom one, Mrs. Isaac Moody of Toronto, still survives to mourn his lost.

Besides Mrs. Dunford, one son, Albion, and three daughters, Gladys and Hilda at home, and Edith, Mrs. Chas. Smith, of Hamilton, live to mourn the loss of a kind, loving and indulgent father.

The deceased was a faithful member of the Free Methodist Church. Honest and upright in his dealings, he was a good citizen.

The funeral was held from the home on Wednesday, when the remains were taken to St. Williams and interred beside his parents in the Newkirk Cemetery. The services were conducted by his pastor, the Rev. J. W. Peach.

[Compiler's Comment: we found no Dunford cemetery stone in Newkirk Cemetery in 2011]
