SUDDEN DEATH. -- We regret to have to record the sudden death of Eber Decow, Esq., of this township, which sad event occurred on Thursday evening last.

Mr. Decow had been complaining for a few days previous of a difficulty in his throat, but nothing serious was apprehended.

On Thursday evening he ate his tea with his family, and lay down shortly afterwards. About eight o'clock, however, he was seized with a choking sensation and difficulty of breathing, and in a few moments his spirit had taken its flight to God who gave it.

Dr. York, who was attending him, gives it as his opinion that death was caused by a false membrane formed in the throat which, becoming detached, prevented respiration.

Deceased was 51 years of age, and leaves a widow, to whom he had been married only two or three months; his remains were interred in the family burying ground on Sunday morning last, Rev. W. H. Laird conducting the services, and a large concourse of friends testifying their sympathy for the bereaved and their esteem for the departed.
