PORT ROWAN

One of Port Rowan's oldest citizens and most respected residents, J. B. Davis, died at his home on Ellis Street, on Sunday, Nov. 18th. Mr. Ellis was 92 years of age, and had been ill for the past six weeks.

Sixty-seven years ago last March he married Miss Harriet Williams, daughter of the late Colonel Titus Williams.

In his younger days he was a carpenter and for a number of years was village constable. For 22 years he was keeper for C. S. Killmaster at his marsh.

Mr. Davis was very well known in the village and vicinity and will be greatly missed. He is survived by his wife and an adopted son A. Davis, of Simcoe.

The funeral services were held at the home on Tuesday and were conducted by the Rev. R. D. Trask.
