Carleton Collver buried in Simcoe
Former Simcoe Merchant Died in
Evans, N.Y. Last Saturday

Carleton Collver, a former resident of Simcoe, died on Saturday morning at his home in Evans, New York State, and was brought to Simcoe for burial.

The funeral was held at Oakwood Cemetery on the arrival of the Wabash train Tuesday, Rev. H. C. Newcombe taking the service.

The late Carleton Collver was in his 71st year and at one time was in partnership here with Mr. E. E. Collins in a grocery business on Norfolk Street, where the Richard Edmonds' grocery now is.

He leaves to mourn his loss a wife, who was [Ma....] Culver, daughter of the late Philip Culver of Townsend, and a grown son, Leland Collver.

He was related to a great many Norfolk County people, both by blood and by marriage.

[Compiler's Comment: R. Robert Mutrie emailed us 1 May 2008 to say: "Carleton Culver's wife was Amerilla (Merilla) Culver, daughter of Philip Force Culver and Margaret Mandeville. His partner, Edward Ernest Collins married Margaret Alma Culver, a sister of Amerilla Culver.]
