Death of Well Known
Simcoe Merchant

Simcoe was greatly shocked last evening to learn that
Mr. Fred S. Chadwick had passed away.

He was known to have been ill with typhoid fever
for two or three weeks, and at times quite low.
That morning however, most encouraging reports
had come from the sick room, and it was generally
supposed that his recovery was expected.
However, during the day he took a turn for the
worse, and about five o'clock death resulted.

Frederick Somerville Chadwick was one of two sons,
who were the only children of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Chadwick, Norfolk Street south, members of one of
the oldest pioneer families of the Long  Point District.

Mr. Chadwick survives to mourn the loss of his eldest
son. Mrs. Chadwick died a few months ago.

Deceased was a very successful business man, conducting a large and prosperous jewelry store.
He was in his 51st year, and unmarried.

The funeral will take place from his father's residence
on Saturday, October 6th, at 2:30 p.m., to
Oakwood Cemetery.
