The Late James Boyd

The death occurred suddenly at his home near Glen Meyer, on Monday, Dec. 26th, of Mr. James Boyd, Clerk of Houghton Township, in his 68th year. For some few months he had been in rather poor health, but was not thought to be dangerously ill. He was as well as usual on Christmas Day, but shortly after 6 o'clock the next morning, death came.

Mr. Boyd was born in Bayham and kept store for a number of years in Tillsonburg and Vienna, later moving to Houghton. For 20 years he was township clerk. His widow, formerly Miss Agnes Park of Fairground, and six daughters survive him.

The funeral last Thursday was under the auspices of the A.O.U.W., and the township council attended in a body.
