A Valuable Estate

In the surrogate court of Norfolk, letters probate of the will of the late
Mrs. Mary Bayard have been applied for and granted to W. E. Kelly, K.C., and H. W. Wood, the executors named in the will.

The will disposes of an unexpectedly large estate.

As is well-known, Mrs. Bayard for many years was employed about town as an "extra help." She was a past-mistress in the art of house care and no kitchen was supposed to be properly equipped if she was not presiding when party refreshments were being served.

No one, however, dreamed that when this quiet, efficient, unassuming woman passed away her estate would be found to amount to over fifteen thousand dollars.

She had no children and whether her husband is alive or not is unknown.
If he is, and ever turns up, he will receive five hundred dollars.

Her realty, valued at one thousand dollars, goes to a cousin in Scotland.

Five thousand dollars is to be devoted to founding a scholarship in connection with the Seminary in London.

Three thousand dollars is left to St. Mary's Church, Simcoe.

The balance of the estate, all of which, except the realty, consists of bank deposits, is earmarked for various charitable and church interests.
