PORT ROWAN

After a lingering illness of over a year, Mr. William C. Bantam died at his home during Saturday night last. Mr. Bantam was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Bantam, and was born at Long Point 57 years ago.

He came to Port Rowan with his parents when a lad, and had lived here since that time.

He mar- [sic] Miss Mary Gable, by whom he is survived. Four sons and three daughters also live to mourn his demise. They are: William of Port Rowan; Frank and George, Bradford; (Annie) Mrs. George Horton, of Charlotteville; Alex., Isadore. and Mary at home.
He was a brother of Mrs. Thos. Gordon, of this village.

Mr. Bantam was a cleaver mechanic, a shoemaker by trade, but abandoned that calling for that of an engineer, at which he was an expert. His disposition was to accommodate, and he was ever ready to lend a helping hand to others, often at a sacrifice to his own interests.

Expressions of sympathy for the bereaved family are numerous.
The funeral was held from the home on Tuesday. Interment took
place in the family plot in Bay View Cemetery.
Rev. Mr. Bloodsworth conducted the services.
