There passed away in Port Rowan on Monday, Feb. 16th, a well known and highly respected lady in the person of Sarah O. Anderson, widow of the late Dr. H. W. Dimon.

Deceased was the youngest of a family of nine children of the late Colonel Walter Anderson of Vittoria and Sarah McQueen of Port Dover. 

She was born on the old homestead near Vittoria, in 1829, and with the exception of a few years spent in Rockford, Ill., she lived their [sic] until she married Dr. Dimon, coming to Port Rowan in the year 1873.

She had been a resident of Port Rowan ever since, and always lived a quiet life, never being long away from her own fireside.

The late Mrs. Dimon was an invalid for many years but was always glad to have her many friends come in and see her and chat a while.

The Andersons of Vittoria were one of the best known families in the County of Norfolk. They came to Charlotteville in the year 1709 [sic] and were among the first pioneers of the Long Point Settlement. They were Scotch and all staunch Presbyterians. 

Mrs. Dimon will be greatly missed by her many friends in Port Rowan. 
Mrs. E. H. Pearsall is a niece, also Mrs. Simes of Vittoria, and Lewis Oakes of Erie View is a nephew.

Deceased was laid to rest in beautiful Bayview Cemetery. The ceremony is conducted by the Rev. J. A. Bloodsworth of the Anglican Church.
