Kelvin Couple Mark Diamond Anniversary

Kelvin: A very happy event took place on Thursday, Dec. 24th, when Mr. and Mrs. Charles Henry Almas, who reside west of the village of Kelvin, celebrated their sixieth wedding anniversary.

Both were born in the district. Mr. Almas was born in the house where and he and Mrs. Almas now reside.

Both Mr. and Mrs. Almas will be 82 years old their next birthdays, and are still active around the farm.

Mrs. Almas used to take an active part in church activities in the Kelvin Methodist Church.

Mr. and Mrs. Almas were married in 1876 and lived on the farm with Mr. Almas' parents, later moving into the parental home where they still reside. They raised a family of six children, all living.

Mrs. George McNelles, Kelvin, Mrs. William Roswell, Northfield Centre, Edward of Ranelagh, Stanley of Kelvin, and Wilbur and Elmer reside at home.

There are 16 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. The family gathered on Thursday for dinner and wished Mr. and Mrs. Almas many more years of happy wedding life.
