Word has been received at Port Rowan that 
Pte. H. A. Slingerland of that place has been 
wounded in action. 

 

The following item is from page 1 of the 25 Apr 1918 issue of the Simcoe Reformer.

Private Hugh A. Slingerland (photo), son of 
D. Slingerland of Port Rowan, enlisted with a 
Calgary unit, has been wounded and is again 
on duty at the front.

 

The following was extracted from a page 1 article in the 
5 Sep 1918 issue of the Simcoe Reformer newspaper.

Norfolk Casualties

796059 Charle [sic] Stevenson Macnab [sic], Simcoe. 
Died of wounds.

808399 H. A. Slingerland, Port Rowan. 
Missing.

214259 J. Young, Simcoe.
