The following is from a page 1 article in the 28 Nov 1918 issue of 
the Simcoe Reformer newspaper.

PRIVATE WALTER JARVIS

47830 -- Mrs. Edward Jarvis of Langton has been notified of the death in action of her son, Private 
Walter Jarvis, on 1 Oct 1918.

He enlisted at Simcoe, in March 1915, under 
Major Dugit and went overseas the same spring. 
He was attached to the 17th Battalion in England 
for a short time and after going to France served 
with the 15th Battalion, but had recently been transferred to the Machine Gun Corps.
 
 

The following is from the Blayney column on page 10 of the 
12 Dec 1918 issue of the Simcoe Reformer newspaper.

Mr. and Mrs. Osborne attended the memorial service held last Sunday at Langton for her brother, Mr. Jarvis, who was killed in action in France.
