Houghton Election

The death of Reeve Sanderson of Houghton caused an election to be held yesterday in that township.

John Hazen, a member of the council, resigned to run for the higher office, but was beaten by J. W. Maguire by 14 majority.

To fill the vacancy in the council, George Whitesell outran J. W. Hetherington by two votes.
