Frances Henritta
Burgar (commonly called "Nettie") was born 23 Sep 1853 in
Norfolk County, the second child, only daughter of Henry Rowley Burgar and
Harriett Ann McCall. Nettie's father died before she was born and
Nettie and her brother Charles were raised by their maternal
grandparents Duncan and Fanny McCall in Woodhouse Township. Nettie
married Woodhouse native Joseph W. Winchell, 22 Sep 1904 at the home
of her maiden aunt Belle McCall. Nettie and Belle then moved to
Joseph's farm at Norwich, where both women lived until their deaths.
Nettie died 26 Jul 1927 and is buried in Oakwood Cemetery, Simcoe.
