From the 2 Sep 1948 Simcoe Reformer:
"Fort Erie downed 8-6 as King strikes out 19 -- Kirwin singled to left for the first of his four hits ... with two away in the eighth, Dave Banatti clouted one to deep right centre. Whitehead galloping a mile to pull it in."

From the 9 Sep 1948 Simcoe Reformer:
"Cubs get revenge by winning 4-3 to put out Fort Erie -- McIntosh scores winning run in ninth ... play errorless ball behind stout hurling of King who fans 14 ... Brilliant outfield catches were contributed by Whitehead and Hodgson."

From the 16 Sep 1948 Simcoe Reformer:
"Aurora Lions drop game to Reformer Cubs by 5-0 score -- Largest crowd of season -- King allows but three hits while Haggarty turns in fine effort at first ,,, Calvert played a bang-up game at the hot corner."

From the 20 Sep 1948 Simcoe Reformer:
"Cubs oust Aurora Lions by winning second game 12-7 ... Bill Beckett was coach Eddie O'Donnell's choice to take the mound ... Bob Crofoot pulled down six fly balls ... Eddie Quinn added to his runs batted in total by pounding a triple to centre."

"Cubs drop opener to Dresden by score of 5-1 ... Locals outhit visitors, but fail to connect with runners on base."

From the 7 Sep 1948 Simcoe Reformer:
"Dresden triumphs over Simcoe Cubs -- locals suffer 12-2 trimming in second of semi-finals."
