From the 16 Aug 1948 Simcoe Reformer:
"Langton Midgets take intercounty title at Preston.  The Langton Midgets went to Preston and came out ahead 12 to 9 for their second straight win in the Midget B final series.  Don Boyd threw a grand game for the winners.  He struck out 12 and walked 3.  Langton collected 12 hits, Boughner and DeVos leading the way with 3 singles apiece.  Ellwood and Erdelac each drove out a couple, while Saunders tripled for his only hit."

From the 1 Sep 1948 Simcoe Reformer:
"Fort Erie ousts Langton Midgets.  Gordon Boyd's Langton Midgets were eliminated from the OBA playdowns at Fort Erie when they suffered a 14-0 defeat at the hands of the St. Michael's of that town in the second game of the first round."

On 18 Feb 2008 we received an email from Loree (Boughner) VanDeMaele, identifying the bat boy as her father, Lew Boughner, son of the coach, Harold Boughner, brother of player Jack Boughner.
