From the 13 Mar 1939 Simcoe Reformer:
"China Clippers take group title ... take final game from Paris by 6 to 3 ... fans are forced to take their hats off to the entire Clipper squad as they provided the biggest upset of the year when they dethroned the best team in the loop ... Herm LaFortune, Clipper goalie, enacted Horatio at the bridge, stopping a total of 22 shots in the final stanza..."

This team was eliminated from further playoff action in the next round by Acton Tanners.
