From the 11 Sep1931 Port Dover Maple Leaf:
"In the final game of the Norfolk County Baseball League playoffs, staged at the Reforestry Station at St. Williams, Simcoe defeated Port Dover 4-3. ... Simcoe trailed going into the ninth inning. Thompson sent one to short which was hard to handle and Beckett made third safety. Fort then tipped a Texas leaguer to short right and Beckett crossed the plate with the winning run. " [This was the third and deciding game of the finals.]
