About Norfolk | Maps | Place Names | History | Back

This map was current until the early 1970s, when Norfolk County was merged into the municipal Region of Haldimand-Norfolk and the township names of Charlotteville, Houghton, Middleton, Townsned, Walsingham, Windham, and Woodhouse
were abandoned.

In 2000, the municipal Region of Haldimand-Norfolk was dissolved and this area become The Town of the County of Norfolk, population 62,000.

Correction to Note: The map above erroneously shows the village of Langton in Middleton Township. Langton, today one of the largest villages in Norfolk, was/is actually in Walsingham, the next township south.
