From the 11 Apr 1949 Simcoe Reformer:
"Sponsored by the Girling Coal Co., the Simcoe Midgets hockey team has enjoyed a good season with seven wins and four losses as their record. However, all of their setbacks were at the hands of the powerful Paris Cornets, who went a long way in the O.M.H.A. playdowns before bowing out in the finals. Before meeting Paris, the Midgets put St. Thomas out of the running in the first round."
