Douglas William Hare, born 22 Oct 1926 in Simcoe, one of 
six children of Merrill H. Hare and Nina E. Pond of Simcoe.
He married Gwen Freeman, then June Cort. 

A member of several golf and country clubs, Doug was a curler, 
boater, bridge player and fisherman. Active in the communities 
in which he lived, Doug was a member of the Kinsmen and 
Rotary (Past President), A.F. & A.M. Lodge #10, Simcoe. 
He was a Simcoe Councillor, town Reeve, and a member of 
St. James United Church. 

Doug, 89, died 27 May 2016 in Simcoe, predeceased by 
his parents, wives, a daughter, grandson and sister; and 
survived by four children, eight grandchildren, 
eight great grandchildren, two brothers and a sister.
