Herbert Kendall Champion, 70, of St. George Street, Port Dover, died 11 Sep 1974 in Simcoe. Born Jersey Island, France, came to Canada in 1911. Came to Simcoe in 1930 as personnel supervisor/chief payroll clerk. In 1941 appointed district personnel supervisor at head office in Hamilton. Pitched for Canco, other teams in Simcoe Softball League. President of Simcoe Softball League, Simcoe Softball Association and Ontario Amateur Softball Association, Simcoe Intermediate Hockey Club. He was a member Simcoe Town Council and Simcoe Kinsmen Club. Survived by wife, two sons, two daughters, grandchildren, 
and a sister.
