From Jo and Beth: Miss Daisy Arthur lived her adult life in Simcoe. She started at the Can in the plant and worked her way up to the office. In the 1950s, she routinely phoned local merchants who cashed employees' pay cheques with a heads-up when payday fell off schedule, ensuring merchants would have enough cash on hand.
