Local History | County Home picnic | Back

A lightly edited partial transcription of the Items of Local Interest column on page 10 of the
17 Jul 1919 Simcoe Reformer newspaper.

Last week 45 of the inmates of the County Home were given an outing at Orchard Beach, Port Dover.

They were motored down in cars loaned for the occasion by Mr. W. L. Innes and other members of St. Paul's congregation, and the ride itself, being the first one for most of them, was of special interest.

The old folks were served a real picnic dinner provided by the ladies of St. Paul's Church.

Miss Spencer, matron of the Home, accompanied the party and all had a good time.

Owing to infirmities, 11 of the big family were compelled to remain at home.
